Power of Parents is a program which prepares parents to talk with teens about alcohol.
** Research shows parents should talk early, talk often with children about underage drinking
** Parents – not peers remain the biggest influence on the children when it comes to alcohol
** Positive parenting strategies can help empower kids to avoid underage drinking
** Parents – you have the power: USE IT!
Natalie Parkinson’s daughter, Renee Parkinson, was killed on Interstate 79 in 2007 by a first-time DUI offender
Pam Ondash’s son David Cook, a resident of Baden, was killed on Route 989 in 2011 by a first-time DUI offender
Natalie and Pam work together through MADD to educate communities.
Impaired driving is 100% preventable.
Mayor Gagliardi will be signing a proclamation in support of MADD’s Power Talk 21, the National Day for parents and caregivers to talk to their kids about alcohol.
