Ambridge Area School District

Hello High School Families and Students!

I hope this e-mail finds you well during these times of uncertainty! As you are aware, due to our recent closure in relation to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our district continues to provide a continuity of education through distance and virtual learning.

In order to continue to provide continuity of education, a temporary addendum will be delivered to students who receive services through a 504/Chapter 15 agreement during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The addendum includes supports/related services/accommodations/modifications that can continue to be implemented during this time of closure and distance learning at the district.

Due to the closure of the building, the addendum also includes a revision of related services that are unable to be provided through virtual learning, i.e. preferential seating in the classroom. Once school resumes, the original 504 Agreement and all related services and accommodations will go back into effect immediately.

At this time, students who receive services will be in receipt of an e-mail where you will find the 504 addendum we have been asked to implement for students who receive services through a 504 Agreement during the COVID-19 Pandemic. It lists the accommodations and related services revised to reflect what can and cannot be offered during the school closure and the distance learning program.

As always, if you would like any additions to the Chapter 15, or if you have any questions or concerns in regards to the addendum, please reach out via e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. You may also reach out via e-mail and I would be glad to set up a virtual conference meeting at your convenience to discuss the addendum via conference call!

I kindly ask that you please reply to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  if your child receives services and you were in receipt of the e-mail message and no further changes are needed to be made if you are in agreement of the plan. If you would like to revise, again please feel free to reach out and I would be glad to address your concerns at a time that is convenient for you and revise the documentation! Please know, upon return to the school year, meetings will be scheduled to be conducted, and all accommodations will resume immediately.

Please know, I am thinking of all of you and our students at this time! If you need assistance in regards to the 504 or any other related services, please do not hesitate to reach out, and I will get back to you as soon as possible! I will also continue to update the Guidance page at www.ambridge.k12.pa.us – Guidance – Ms. Chelsea Benedict with any additional supports to help you and your family at this time.

Thank you again for your continued support together!

Stay safe! Warmest regards during this time,

Ms. Chelsea Benedict, School Counselor, MA, NCC 9th and 10th grade
