On Tuesday, 19 new members were inducted into the NJHS. The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization, established in 1929 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. The association recognizes and honors middle-level students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. More than one million students in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. terroritoes and Canada, participate in official Honor Society activities. In addition to recognizing their accomplishments, the NJHS challenges its members to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
