The data collected in the attached needs assessment will help the Ambridge Area High School Counseling Department plan the following for the 2017-2018 school year:
School counseling core curriculum grades 9-12: This curriculum consists of structured lessons designed to help students attain the desired competencies and to provide all students with the knowledge, attitudes and skills appropriate for their developmental level. The school counseling core curriculum is delivered throughout the school’s overall curriculum and is systematically presented by school counselors in collaboration with other professional educators in 9-12 classroom and group activities. This can be through small group, individual or large group classroom guidance lessons.
School counseling core needs: The feedback provided will also help direct the school counseling department plan and structure the parent nights for all 9-12 students based on parent/student requests. The counseling department would like to continue working collaboratively with the community, the students and the district to ensure input is provided while meeting the academic, social/emotional and career goals of all the students and parents.
