PUBLIC INSPECTION OF PROPOSED 2016-2017 FINAL BUDGET
In accordance with Act 1 of 2006, notice is hereby given that the Board of School Directors of the Ambridge Area School District will make the 2016-2017 School Year Proposed Final Budget available for public inspection beginning on May 23, 2016, on the district website at www.ambridge.k12.pa.us and in the Superintendent’s Office at 909 Duss Avenue, Ambridge, PA 15003 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Final action on said budget will be taken at a meeting of the Ambridge Area School Board to be held on June 22, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of Ambridge Area High School, 909 Duss Avenue, Ambridge, PA 15003.

Join us in congratulating Isaac Elliott on his outstanding performance at the Beaver County Track and Field Championships.
Elliott set two event records running 21.6 in the 200 and 49.2 in the 400. He was also given the Outstanding Male Track Performance for 2016 award.
"All his hard work and dedication is paying off. So proud of him!" shared Elliott's father, Phillip Elliott .
Elliott was not the only Ambridge athlete to compete and place in Saturdays meet.

Overall as a team Ambridge Girls came in 7th place out of 14 teams Ambridge Boys came in 10th place in a three way tie with Alqiuippa and Southside out of 14 teams.
We received this notification yesterday from the Science Outreach Center at Saint Francis University!! Each year the 8th grade regular education science classes complete a statics project and the top projects are entered into the below referenced contest. Last year Lauren Mawhinney’s class won an Honorable Mention and this year Tomasina Crapis (a long term sub) had two projects earn Honorable Mention!
A total of 548 posters were received from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the 2016 Pennsylvania Statistics Competition, hosted by Saint Francis University! The total count included 89 posters from Kindergarten to 3rd grade, 234 from 4th to 6th grade, 131 from 7th to 9th grade, and 94 from 10th to 12th grade.

In March, high school students Nadia and Bree Mycyk, Emma Van Dyke, and Alois Watkins, along with Highland 6th grader Allison Wintersgill, volunteered to face paint at the State Street indoor carnival. The face paint booth was a hit. I was filled with elementary students from start till finish. The painters worked hard putting smiles on many colorful faces.
To celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month, Ambridge’s high school jazz department recently hosted the Beaver County Arts Education Consortium’s Jazz Workshop. The workshop took place on Wednesday April 6th in the High School music suite and included students from all over Beaver County. Kevin McManus, adjunct professor at five different universities and freelance musician, was the artist in residence and Ambridge’s own elementary music educators Samantha Rappolt and Samuel Eisenreich served as clinicians. Participating students from Mrs. Baney’s and Mr. Hartman’s jazz bands included Jacob Best, Tim Bruce, Faith Holcomb, Margie Jarsulic, Matt Kowalski, Josh Lockhart, Claire Matzie, Ryan Mikush, Carlina Powell, Kevan Rotthoff, Pearl Swann, and Hayden Wesche.
Congratulations to senior Aadan Buck for competing in the 17th Annual Pittsburgh Monster Meet. The Pittsburgh Monster Meet consists of 150 lifters of all ages and is one of the biggest and most successful competitions in the area. Aadan benched 285lbs (with a pause) and earned 2nd place in the teenage bench press. Aadan also deadlifted 555lbs earning him 1st place in the teenage dead lift!
Anna Galiardi and Skye Galiardi both won first place in the Women’s Club District Competition. Their photos will now move on to compete at the state level. Click here to vote for the Kieth Rothfus Congressional Art Contest. Voting is available through April 4th.
