Our fifth graders worked in teams to make , market, and sell products. They had to pick a theme and follow the theme for all of the items on their table. They worked together for a team goal to make the most money, but for a bigger goal to raise money for Children’s Hospital and the Caring Place. The children learned to work together and make compromises for the good of the group. This was a wonderful learning experience for everyone.

Students arriving for the first day of Kindergarten Readiness Camp in the District were greeted by smiling faces and new friends.

The camp is designed to prepare students for the transition into Kindergarten. Families with children registered for the Kindergarten program for the 2019-2020 School Year were provided with free transportation to the elementary school to which their child is assigned. Once there, students will receive both breakfast and lunch, have the opportunity to meet their new classmates and teachers and familiarize themselves with their news classrooms and school.

Not registered yet for the 2019-2020 School Year? Stop by State Street Elementary School between 9 a.m. and noon all this week to register. Questions can be directed to Cathy Hopkins at 724-266-2833, Ext.1273 or via email.
