The Beaver County CTC is one of 17 active chapters in Region 13, which included Fox Chapel, Pine Richland, Shadyside Academy, Butler, North Allegheny, Central Valley, Beaver, and other prominent high schools in our area. In preparation for the Regional event, CTC students were told to review the over 50 competitive events offered, test objectives, and procedures, and choose one that they would like to research, prepare, and compete against other students in our region. Only three students per chapter can compete in each event. An online objective test with over 100 questions was taken by the students and ranked by the score with students from other chapters who took the same test.
The following Business Information System’s Ambridge students placed at the 21-22 Region 13 Regional Leadership Conference that was held in December:
Ceara Tenney took 2nd Place in the Business Law competition. This competitive event’s competencies include the legal system, contracts and sales, business organization, computer law, consumer and project/personal liability, agency and employment law, and domestic personal law.
Jocelyn Mahmoud took 5th Place in this year’s new event, Human Resource Management. This competitive event’s competencies include training and development, staff, employment compensation and benefits, performance management, government relations and issues, human resource planning, labor relations, and collective bargaining.
Ceara and Jocelyn will be competing against students around the state at the PAFBLA State Leadership Conference, which will be held this spring. They will be eligible to compete again for the 22-23 school year, as both are juniors.
