Suicide Prevention and How to Get Help 

Your well-being matters, and we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all students. If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide or self-harm, it is important to seek help immediately. You are not alone, and there are people ready to listen and assist.  

How to Get Help: 

  • In case of an emergency, dial 911 or visit your nearest emergency room. 
  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Call or text 988 for confidential support, 24/7  Or chat: 988lifeline.org to reach out to a mental health professional. 
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 to connect with a trained counselor anytime. 
  • Local Support Services:

Warning Signs to Look For: If you notice any of the following signs in yourself or others, reach out for help immediately: 

  • Talking about wanting to die or harm oneself or making plans for suicide. 
  • Feeling hopeless, trapped, or like a burden to others.  
  • Expressing hopelessness about the future. 
  • Displaying severe/overwhelming emotional pain or distress. 
  • Showing worrisome changes in behavior, particularly in combination with the warning signs above, including significant: 
  • Withdrawing from friends and activities, social connections/situations 
  • Changes in mood, sleep, or behavior (increase or decrease) 
  • Anger/hostility that seems out of character. 
  • Recent increased agitation or irritability
