Welcome to the Class of 2033!
It is with great excitement that the faculty and staff welcome you to the State Street family. While your child begins their education at a time of great uncertainty, please know that the faculty and staff at State Street spent the summer working hard to put practices and procedures in place to ensure the health and safety of the entire school community while also making sure that all students have the best possible educational experience.
In an effort to social distance, and to keep all staff and students safe, this year’s mandatory kindergarten orientation will take place virtually on Thursday, August 13 at 9:30 A.M. We encourage both parents and child(ren) to participate in this event. Please join the Microsoft Teams meeting to meet the State Street Kindergarten team and support staff. Access the link through the building webpage: go to ambridge.k12.pa.us, select schools at the top of the page, and then click on State Street.
We will provide a virtual tour of the building and explain the daily routine that your child will experience. Please familiarize yourself with the district website, and the State Street Elementary School page, for updates relating the COVID-19.
While the school plays a significant role in educating students, we believe that parents play an important role in reinforcing concepts taught in the Kindergarten classroom. Enclosed in this packet is a variety of information to help parents prepare their child for the first day of school, and to support them as they progress through the school year. In addition, a Kindergarten contact sheet is enclosed. Please return this to your child’s teacher. This information helps us to keep open the lines of communication between the school and home.
The State Street faculty is dedicated to providing our students the best possible educational experience. Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or myself with any questions or concerns that arise. We look forward to getting to know you and your child(ren) throughout the school year.
