November 16, 2020
Dear Ambridge Area School District Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health County Level Transmission Chart, Beaver County has reached the “Substantial” level of COVID-19 transmission. The Pennsylvania Department of Education is recommending that school districts in counties that have reached “Substantial” levels of COVID-19 transmission, transition to full-remote learning. Due to an increased number of cases of COVID-19 in Beaver County, The Ambridge Area School District will provide all of its educational services virtually beginning on Monday, November 23, 2020 until further notice from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. All practices and extra-curricular activities will be postponed.
Beaver County has had 162 positive cases per 100,000 people in the last seven days and has an 8.3 % positivity rate. 162 positive cases per 100,000 people is a key factor that has placed Beaver County in the “Substantial” category. The District will return to its Hybrid Model of Instruction at a later date, based on guidance from Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Dr. Joseph Pasquerilla
Superintendent of School
