Filipowski, Amy

Dr. Amy Filipowski serves as the Director of Special Education. She has been serving the district in this role since August 2020.

Dr. Filipowski works as part of the Keystone Educational Consulting Group. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor for University of Pittsburgh. Prior to working as a consultant, Dr. Filipowski served Pittsburgh Public Schools as the Executive Director of Special Education, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Professional Development, Director of Literacy and Library Services, Literacy Specialist and Special Education teacher. She also serves as a consultant for various school districts across Pennsylvania to conduct needs assessments and implement action plans across MTSS, curriculum, professional development, and special education compliance.

Dr. Filipowski has her doctorate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Educational Leadership and Administrative Policy Studies.  She has her MA in Educational Praxis and BA in Education from Carlow University.  She also has her Letter of Eligibility, Supervision of Special Education and Supervision of Curriculum and Instruction. Finally, she has her k-12 Principal Certification and teaching certificates in Special Education, Elementary, and English.
