The Center for Hope is sad to report that they are closing the center for the next two weeks, effective immediately. Because of this, today’s food distribution scheduled for the Crestview Village community center parking lot is cancelled.  We are working to find a way to continue to help feeding the students of Ambridge during this time. Please continue to check your email for updates.

Thank you for understanding.  Stay healthy.

Update from Positive Steps:

During this crisis we are aware that many of our clients may be in need of therapy more than ever. WPPC has taken measures that will allow us to provide face to face therapy at either our Beaver or Baden office.  Additionally, the PA Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) has loosened the regulations around Telehealth during the COVID19 crisis which will allow our therapists to conduct therapy sessions via internet, Facetime or phone.  Unfortunately, this only applies to clients whose primary insurance is Medical Assistance.  None of the commercial insurances have followed suit.  We will be contacting clients and/or their parents/guardians to offer these services.

Prevention created a YouTube Channel that will have information and videos on a wide range of topics.

Kennywood ticket sales in the District were scheduled for Tuesday March 24th.  This has been cancelled.   Please see the below message from Kennywood.

Dear Kennywood Coordinator,

We know the Coronavirus situation has been at the top of everyone’s mind of late, and it has been at Kennywood as well. The health and safety of our Guests and Team Members is always our top priority, and our team has been proactive in enhancing cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection protocols for our Team Members currently working, and in preparing for when the park opens for the 2020 Summer Season.

At this time, we continue to plan towards the start of the Kennywood season on Saturday, May 2. We will continue our careful monitoring of the current situation, adhering strictly to the recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as our local and statewide health and safety agencies.

However, Kennywood management has made the decision to cancel ALL in-school ticket sales for 2020.  We will not be rescheduling any ticket sale dates. Your school district’s picnic tickets will still be available on the personalized URL that you were assigned. We are adjusting the price online to meet the same value as a ticket sold at the school. In the occasion that Kennywood does not proceed with its current operating schedule, I will be in contact with the affected district to reschedule a picnic date.

Like most of you, we have become increasingly concerned with how the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation could affect our students and their learning. With that in mind we are sharing a list of resources for you to use during your time at home. This is not a list developed by AASD, but rather a list of resources gathered from the Internet. We hope you find something you can use online or offline.
